Meet Ms. TeeKay, Market Manager

Tamara “Ms. TeeKay” Kumoji is a Baltimore native, creative leader, and community advocate with over 25 years of experience using art and cultural programming to empower individuals and strengthen communities. She has led large-scale events that uplift local artists, small businesses, and underserved voices, focusing on creating inclusive spaces for healing, self-expression, and youth engagement.

Ms. TeeKay serves as a Board Member of Speak Your Truth, a nonprofit dedicated to ending the stigma of mental illness through words and art, and is a member of Arteasy Studio. She was also a 2025 Govans Farmers Market vendor, gaining firsthand insight into its community impact.

Now serving as Market Manager, Ms. TeeKay brings her passion for people, strong leadership, and commitment to equity to support the Govans Farmers Market’s continued growth.

It Takes a Village

While Ms. Teekay serves as the on-site manager and main point of contact for market vendors, shoppers, and programs, the Govans Farmers Market is supported by Loyola University Maryland’s Center for Community Service and Justice (CCSJ). A team of full-time staff and student interns help with logistics, vendor coordination, food access programs, and community outreach behind the scenes.
