Community Fridge

The Govans Community Fridge is open 24/7 and provides free access to fresh food and hygiene supplies for anyone in need.  It is restocked on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The fridge is a donation-based resource located on the same lot as the farmers market. It’s stocked by neighbors, local organizations, and farmers market vendors who contribute fresh produce, pantry staples, and prepared meals. Anyone is welcome to take what they need or donate what they can—no questions asked.

Donation Tips

  • Bundle loose produce (for example, three apples in a bag) to keep it clean and easy to grab.
  • Do not leave boxes or crates behind—place items directly on the fridge shelves.
  • Sort items by type when placing them in the fridge (for example, group all fruits or canned goods together).
  • If the fridge is full, come back later.
  • Only donate what you would eat or use.
  • Do not donate expired, opened, leaking, or heavily damaged goods.
  • While the fridge is maintained regularly, your care helps too. Please tidy up as needed when donating.
